## How to Manage Subpages

### Organizing the placement of Subpages

Subpages can be managed from the **Manage Pages** section as detailed earlier. You can move a Subpage by dragging and dropping it where you want (hover over a Subpage until you see the six dotted symbol).

You can either change the order in which the Subpages appear in a Page Group’s navigation or the Page to which a Subpage belongs. The latter can be accomplished by dragging and dropping a Subpage into a Page.

You can also turn Subpages into Pages by placing them above a Page.

By clicking on the three dots next to a Subpage, you can open the Subpage (select **Open Page**) or create another Subpage for the Subpage by clicking on **Add Subpage**.

**Note:** You **cannot** move a **Subpage** if it has its **own Subpage**. You must **first** move the **Subpage’s** Subpage.

### Archiving Subpages

Happeo does not delete Subpages. Instead, we archive them in case you wish to retrieve them.

If you want to archive a Subpage:

1. Navigate to a Page Group
2. Click the **edit symbol** at the top-right corner when viewing a Page
3. Select **Manage Pages** from the **Page Settings Menu** at the bottom
4. Click on the three dots next to a Subpage you wish to archive
5. Select **Archive Page**

### Setting as a home page

You can also change the Page Group home page by clicking the three dots next to a Subpage and selecting **Set as home page**.

## How to move Subpages within a Page Group

To move a Subpage within a Page Group, you can:

1. Navigate to the Page Group in which the Subpage you want to move resides
2. Click on **Edit Page** at the top right corner
3. Select **Manage Pages** at the bottom of the Page Settings Menu
4. **Hover** over the Subpage you wish to move
5. **Drag** the Subpage from the **six dots** that appear
6. And **drop** the Subpage wherever you want to move it

1. Move a Subpage **in between a Page** to create a **Page**
2. Move a Subpage **in between Subpages** to change its **order of visibility**
3. Move the Subpage **into a Page** to change its initial location
4. Move a Subpage **into a Subpage** to change its initial location

### When will the Page or Subpage URL change?

Let's say you have a Page called "Support" within a Page Group. When you move "Support" to another Page, "Support" will become a Subpage, and therefore will have a different URL.

If you move the Subpage "Support" to another Subpage, the URL will remain the same as what it changed into, because it remains a Subpage.

Basically, when you move a Page, the URL will only change if the Page becomes a Subpage and vice versa.

If you copy a Page or Subpage to a different Page Group, the URL will change.

And of course, if you change the Page or Subpage name, the URL will also change, reflecting the name change.

## How to copy Subpages

Copying a Subpage from a Page group into a different Page or Page group is handy when you wish to **duplicate Subpages** or use a Subpage as a **starting point** for a new Page.

- When you copy a Subpage into another Page within a different Page Group, that copied Subpage becomes a Subpage
- If you copy a Subpage into another Page group, that Subpage will become an individual Page within the selected Page Group
- Copying a Subpage into the same Page group in which it resides will create a new Page
- Lastly, copying a Subpage into a Page within the same Page Group in which it resides will create a new Subpage

**Note:** Only **individual Subpages can be copied**, not entire Page Groups.

Additionally, you must be either a Page Group **Owner**, **Editor**, or **Platform Administrator** to copy a Subpage from a Page Group. Moreover, you must be an **Editor** of the Page Group / Page you wish to copy the Subpage into.

### Copying a Subpage

1. Navigate to the Page Group in which the Subpage you want to copy resides
2. Click on **Edit Page** at the top right corner
3. Select **Manage Pages** at the bottom of the Page settings menu
4. Click on the three dots next to the Subpage you wish to copy
5. Click on **Copy Page to**
6. You can select the Page or Page Group from the menu
7. Click on **Save**
   1. This will bring you to the copied Subpage and the location you chose
   2. Please refresh your window to view the new changes

## Rules for Subpage layering

As a rule of thumb, Subpage layering is generally **not recommended**, as it introduces the act of digging as a means to find information and therefore information chaos and loss in productivity.

When considering Subpage layering, please also consider if that Subpage could be turned into a Page or a completely new Page Group instead (basically change the granularity).
